Who we are
Middlesbrough Patios is a local patio business, and patios and garden paving are all we do. We work from Linthorpe and Acklam out to Marton, Nunthorpe and Coulby Newham, so we know the ground and the houses here: the walled back yards behind the Victorian terraces near Albert Park, the long gardens of the inter-war semis in Acklam and Ormesby, and the newer estates in Hemlington and Coulby Newham where the builder's patio is often too small for the family using it.
We keep things simple. You talk to us, we come and have a look, and you get a straight, written answer on what the job needs and what it involves.
What we do
- New patios in porcelain, Indian sandstone, concrete and stone slabs and resin.
- Garden paths and steps linking the back door, the patio, the shed and the gate, with steps where the garden changes level.
- Garden walls: low brick and stone walls, raised beds and retaining walls.
- Patio relaying and repairs for slabs that have sunk, rock underfoot or cracked, up to lifting the whole patio and laying it again on a new base.
We don't do driveways, fencing or decking. Sticking to patios and garden paving means each job gets our full attention.
How we work
- A free site visit. We come out at a time that suits you, look at the garden and talk through what you'd like.
- We measure up and check levels. We measure the area, check levels against the house and the damp-proof course, and work out where rainwater will go. Much of Middlesbrough sits on heavy clay that holds water, so this step matters.
- A written quote. You get a written, itemised price you can compare like for like, with no obligation to go ahead.
- Proper groundwork. We dig out to the right depth, lay and compact a crushed-stone sub-base, and bed every slab on a full bed of mortar with a fall away from the house.
- A tidy finish. Joints filled, edges and lawn lines made good, the waste taken away, and a word on when it's fine to walk on and when the table and chairs can go back out.
